Precept is having our annual holiday party for our employees, and it’s always important to address the issue of alcohol consumption at employer-sponsored functions. Here is the memo that was sent to our employees:
In anticipation of the evening’s event, we would like to extend the support to all attendees to drink responsibly. Alcohol will be offered for those of you who are over 21 and who choose to drink. We will also have nonalcoholic beverages available. If you do choose to drink alcohol, please do so in moderation. We want everyone to enjoy the party and we expect you to behave responsibly. While we hope that it will not be necessary, any employee who becomes intoxicated or disruptive will be subject to disciplinary action. If a bartender or any management member notifies you that you are too intoxicated to drink more alcohol, we expect you to stop drinking without complaint. Hopefully, all are aware of the responsibility one assumes when drinking an alcoholic beverage, or multiple beverages for that matter, but we would like to re-iterate a few key points:
- First and foremost, please do not drink and drive. If you decide to drink tonight, please make arrangements to have a designated driver deliver you home safely.
- If you are the designated driver, people are relying on you to remain sober to drive so please respect that by not drinking. If you find that your designated driver is not able to drive, then please find a safe alternative to get home or contact the HR Director to call you a cab.
- If you feel that you are too intoxicated to drive and are not able to find a safe alternative to get home, please contact the HR Director and we can arrange for a cab to deliver you safely to your home.
- If we feel that you are too intoxicated to drive and you think about driving or even attempt to drive, we will put you in a cab to deliver you safely to your home.
- If you are unable to find a manager and cannot find another ride home, please take a taxi cab and we will reimburse you for your fare.
We would like for all of you to have a great time, so please be safe!
