Luis Milla
Vice President, Underwriting Services
Luis is responsible for Precept’s Underwriting and Procurement Services department, including managing a staff of six underwriters; overseeing and managing a block of business that contains 150 accounts which consists of 65,000 total employees, 465 Medical Plans and 855 Ancillary Plans; manage outside carrier relationships; and directing the department on emerging underwriting techniques and methodologies. Luis also manages his own block of business in both fully insured and self-funded environments.
Luis comes to Precept following a 10-year tenure with CIGNA Healthcare, where he held positions in middle-market and national accounts underwriting, responsible claims analysis, forecasting and overall earnings of a book of business in excess of $500 million annually. His client base included both Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 clients.
Luis graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with an honors degree in Economics and a minor in Applied Mathematics.
Luis and his team of underwriters together manage $555 million in premium annually.
