Holly Williams
General Counsel
Holly provides labor and general corporate law to Precept’s middle-market employer clients. She also advises Precept’s senior executives on risk management issues.
In addition to being Precept’s general counsel, Holly is also the president and owner of Apto, a Human Resources legal services company, offering employer products and services related to all labor and employment matters. Apto represents employers in federal and state courts on all labor and employment matters, including investigations and defense of employee claims, as well as provides Human Resources products and consulting services to employers, assisting employers in establishing and running legally-compliant and efficient Human Resources departments.
Prior to establishing Apto, Holly spent two years at Endocare, Inc., as vice president of human resources and general counsel, where she was responsible for managing all pre-litigation and litigation matters. She also established, implemented and trained all company employees (annually) on legally-required compliance programs, including harassment in the workplace, workplace safety and Injury Illness Prevention Plan program, medical leave (FMLA/CFRA) policies, insider trading and health care fraud and abuse.
Before Endocare, Inc., Holly spent eight years as a partner at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, LLP, where she created an HR Consulting practice for national and local employers to develop, implement and train on California-specific compliance matters and recommended employment practices (handbooks, IIPP and safety programs, affirmative action plans and programs, and disciplinary plans and procedures).
Holly earned a B.A., magna cum laude, in political science and history from Loyola Marymount University and a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. She’s a board member of the Public Law Center, and has had articles published in the Orange County Business Journal, Los Angeles Daily Journal, HR Focus and California Labor & Employment Law Quarterly.
