Attend this session to learn easy tips for how to train your managers to stay out of trouble. This session will explore how to avoid the most common pitfalls and most frequent mistakes that managers make. We will cover a variety of topics, from meal breaks and other wage-and-hour issues, to accommodation requests, to proper documentation, and more. Feel free to bring any new managers, or managers in need of a refresher, with you to this session.
About the Speaker
Nancy Yaffe is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Folger Levin & Kahn LLP, focusing her practice on labor and employment law counseling and litigation. Ms. Yaffe represents clients in employment litigation matters throughout California. She has successfully defended all types of harassment and discrimination matters, ADA/disability matters, and wage-and-hour litigation for clients in all types of industries including hospitality, manufacturing, and high tech.
Ms. Yaffe provides pre-litigation counseling and advice to clients nationwide on employment-related issues including harassment, discrimination, ADA/disability compliance, wage-and-hour issues, labor, and employee relations. She prepares training materials and conducts training presentations for clients on sexual harassment prevention, new legal developments, and other timely employment issues. She conducts preventative audits for clients on issues such as wage-and-hour compliance. She prepares position statements for agency responses. She conducts and/or oversees investigations into workplace misconduct or allegations thereof. She also reviews client policies and handbooks to ensure legal compliance.
Ms. Yaffe was a speaker for Precept in 2007 on the topic of "HR Audits: Pay or Play." She has been a featured speaker for PIHRA at its Annual Conference, Legal Update, and at many district meetings throughout southern California. Ms. Yaffe is a member of Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, and volunteers regularly for WLALA at the Sojourn Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. She is also a member of Step Up Women's Network.
